Darlings, did you know that there is not one tiki bar in all of Basra? How tiresome. So off I went to Singapore. Home of the Singapore Sling. And since Singapore is an island, there are beaches there too.
But my dears, when I saw the beautiful Raffles Hotel, birthplace of the Sling, I forgot beaches. Here's the recipe:
* 1 1/2 ounce gin
* 1/2 ounce Cherry Heering brandy
* 1/4 ounce Cointreau
* 1/4 ounce Benedictine
* 4 ounces pineapple juice
* 1/2 ounce lime juice
* 1/3 ounce grenadine
* dash bitters
Shake with ice. Strain into an ice filled collins glass. Garnish with cherry and slice of pineapple

I had to try one when I was there in '99. A bit sweet for my taste, but you know, just had to.
