Darlings, Enrique said that they had requested my presence at Basra, so what could I do but agree to the trip as part of my Beach A Day quest through the month of August. BASRA, as I'm sure you are aware, is the Bahamas Air and Sea Rescue Association. A fantastic group with whom I'm delighted to be associated.
However, when the plane trip from Hawaii droned on longer than expected, I discovered we were being sent to Basra, Iraq.
But darlings! When life gives you figs, make Newtons! Basra IS near the sea, and there is sand! So here's little old me. Beach party Basra Style! Now if I can find me some of those mommas in combat boots. Don't ask, don't tell, baby!!!!
